OUR STORY
	Our Past
May 2011: The firm was founded in Amsterdam and was called Dias | Law. It started at a dining table (who said law isn’t also entrepreneurship?) and later moved into a coworking space on one of Amsterdam's canals, Herengracht. Our first clients were Dutch companies doing business in Brazil. At the time, our founding partner was also qualifying as a Dutch lawyer, and the knowledge of the languages, cultures, and laws of both countries was essential to offering this specialised service.
June 2014: Our founding partner decided to move back to Brazil, and the firm relocated to Brasília with a new name: Joyce Dias Advocacia. The move to Brazil also benefited our clients, as we were now even closer to their businesses, facilitating local negotiations and potential legal disputes in Brazilian courts. In the first few years, we worked from home (and this was long before the pandemic!), as motherhood also became one of our main projects. Later, we moved into a coworking space in the centre of the capital.
March 2023: We opened our first physical office in Asa Norte, Brasília, which also reflects our values: in front of a park, surrounded by nature, and close to home, as we balance motherhood with practising law.
Our Present
Today, the firm represents not only Dutch companies but also British, Indian, and American companies, as well as Brazilian companies doing business abroad. Our past reflects our practical knowledge of the challenges of entrepreneurship in different countries. We carry this experience into our present, maintaining a close relationship with our clients and understanding their businesses.
Our Future
Pleased with what we have built so far, we continue to dream big. Our purpose is to keep serving our clients. We believe in providing a high technical quality service and practising modern, personalised, and humanised law.
