Joyce Dias

Joyce Dias is a lawyer and an arbitrator. She is qualified as a lawyer in Brazil, Portugal, and the Netherlands. She has over 20 years of experience in corporate law, litigation and arbitration.

She represents foreign companies doing business in Brazil (from public companies and multinationals to startups), assisting with corporate structuring and the establishment of local entities, drafting shareholders agreements, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, assisting in public tender processes, as well as helping companies to restructure or unwind their businesses in Brazil, including in bankruptcy cases. Joyce also represents clients in litigation and arbitration procedures.

Joyce has worked as an associate in the international arbitration group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris and then Amsterdam. Previously, she worked as a law clerk at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and at the International Bar Association in London.

She holds an LL.M in International Law from the University of Cambridge, having received a full scholarship from the Shell Centenary Scholarship Fund.

She has a bachelor's degree in Dutch law from the University of Amsterdam and bachelor's degree in Brazilian law from the Instituto de Ensino Superior de Brasília. She has attended courses in Public International Law and Private International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law.
