  1. You must be 18 or 16 if you have your parents or guardian’s consent
  2. You must carry your passport and a valid visa for entering the country. It can be a visitor/tourism visa.

In Brazil, the marital property regime will be, by default, the partial community of properties. However, you can choose another one with your partner by signing a prenup agreement.

Something borrowed

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to print a lot of paper.

To get married you’ll need:

  1. Your birth certificate apostilled and translated
  2. 2 witnesses to sign the marriage certificate at the notary
  3. Proof of residence
  4. Official declaration of civil status
  5. Your passport and visa
