How was the saying again? You’ll need something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue…
Something old
- You must be 18 or 16 if you have your parents or guardian’s consent
- You must carry your passport and a valid visa for entering the country. It can be a visitor/tourism visa.
Something new
In Brazil, the marital property regime will be, by default, the partial community of properties. However, you can choose another one with your partner by signing a prenup agreement.
Something borrowed
Roll up your sleeves and get ready to print a lot of paper.
To get married you’ll need:
- Your birth certificate apostilled and translated
- 2 witnesses to sign the marriage certificate at the notary
- Proof of residence
- Official declaration of civil status
- Your passport and visa
Something blue
You can always contact us so we can guide you through all the paperwork and other issues such as property regime and prenuptial agreement, change of name and permanent visa in Brazil.
